We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
We are fundraising to travel & learn!
In partnership with The African Diaspora Alliance this opportunity will be extended to 6 leadership members of the No Boundaries Youth Organizers. We hope to inspire creativity, independence and a broader perspective on the issues around the world for our students.
Study abroad with The African Diaspora Alliance shifts the traditional paradigm of how learning takes place. This is done through a collective learning model which disrupts the binary and hierarchical relationship that often exists between students and teachers in the classroom. The pedagogical approach of our study abroad programs emphasizes youth leadership development and self-actualization. This opportunity will nourish critical thinking skills which fortifies students’ ability to raise questions about their environment and encourage them to organize around important issues in their community. ADA's study abroad agenda equips students with a historical lens to contextualize their present day realities.
Your contribution will support the following costs for 6 students:
Round trip flight from Baltimore to New Orleans
Housing Accommodations for 5 days and 4 nights
Transportation to all activities
Activities Include
Community Book Store
Ase Cultural Arts Center
Ancestral Body Memory Dance Class
Whitney Plantation
City Bike Tour
Studio B Tour
This opportunity will allow students to develop critical thinking skills that will raise questions about their environment, addresses important issues in their community, and learn the historical facts that help them contextualize their present day realities.
